Economics 415 - Note Taking Tips
1. Copy what is on the board PLUS what is discussed in class.
I put a lot of information on the board and have chosen to present the lectures this way to give you plenty of time to take notes and follow the graphical and mathematical analyses covered in class. However, the material presented on the board is not the only important material that is discussed. Make sure that you also take notes on the in-class discussions. You are not only responsible for what I write, but also for what I (and your classmates) say in class.2. Use colored pens or pencils
I use colored chalk (or pens) to make it easier
for you to understand the graphs that are used in class. Using colored pens or pencils (or
pen with pencil) will help you to better understand the graphs and the order of
the graphical analyses in your notes.
3. Recopy Your Notes
Recopying your notes is an excellent way to start studying for an exam, and a way to fix any errors (or notice any errors) that are in your notes. Repetition is one of the best ways of learning
