The Environmental Issues Major and Minor offered at Salisbury University are interdisciplinary programs including courses from the fields of biology, chemistry, economics, environmental health, geography, history, philosophy, political science, sociology, math, among others.  The purpose of both programs is to encourage students to address environmental issues from various perspectives and to prepare them for work and study in environmental fields.

The environmental studies major contains a 35-credit core, of which 11 credits can be applied to the general education requirements for graduation.  The core includes two environmental issues (ENVR) courses (6 credit hours) and 29 credits from a mix of classes in the humanities, sciences and social sciences.  Student most also complete 12 credit hours from list of elective courses. The environmental studies minor consists of 18 credit hours that may be taken from 15 different fields.  See the environmental studies minor minor checklist for more details.           

The Environmental Student Association, which includes many students from the minor, meets regularly during the semester
